Diferencias sexuales cerebrales y funciones ejecutivas: la bisexualidad
Resumen
La neuropsicología es una disciplina que estudia la cognición humana, incluyendo las funciones ejecutivas, las cuales son muy importantes ya que nos permiten adaptarnos y responder al medio; estas se han relacionado principalmente al lóbulo frontal (LF), específicamente en la corteza prefrontal (CPF). Algunas de las funciones de la CPF son la fluidez verbal, procesamiento matemático y memoria de trabajo; funciones que se han visto diferenciadas entre sexos y, más recientemente, entre orientaciones sexuales. Sin embargo, estos hallazgos se han encontrado principalmente entre grupos heterosexuales y homosexuales. La bisexualidad, que se ha definido como una atracción por ambos sexos, ha sido muy poco estudiada debido a que muchas veces no es considerada como una orientación sexual real. El objetivo del presente escrito es revisar las evidencias existentes acerca de la bisexualidad y las funciones ejecutivas.
