Abstract

It is determined the influence of Jamaican culture immigration of Moa. It was carried out consultation of texts, periodicals, historical documents and interviews with Jamaican descendants settled in the territory nowadays. The work allowed to relate the contributions of this migrant group to the local culture in terms of: food culture, green medicine, sports practices and oral literature. It is concluded that Jamaican families who settled in Moa’s neighborhood between 1938 and 1959 preserved and spread the cultural elements of their place of origin.
