Vías para la utilización óptima de las lateritas niquelíferas

Abstract

En el presente trabajo, a partir del análisis sustancial de las menas lateríticas y la necesidad de su utilización completa, se propone la explotación de estos yacimientos tomando en consideración su composición químico-mineralógica y sus propiedades tecnológicas. Se analiza también la necesidad de disminuir las exigencias a las menas en lo referente al contenido mínimo de Níquel (hasta 0,2-0,3 %) sobre la base de la elevación de la eficiencia industrial. Por último, se recomienda la búsqueda de nuevos tipos de yacimientos hipergenéticos de níquel.  La puesta en práctica de estas propuestas, según los autores, puede duplicar el valor de las lateritas niquelíferas y por consiguiente aumentar las posibilidades de exportación del país.
