Rasgos principales de la tectónica de la porción oriental de las provincias de Holguín y Guantánamo
Abstract
En el trabajo se exponen los rasgos principales que caracterizan la estructura geológica de la porción oriental de las provincias de Holguín y Guantánamo, proponiéndose un esquema tectónico preliminar del territorio a escala 1:500 000, en el que sintetizadamente se han diferenciado las principales dislocaciones plicativas y de ruptura que conforman la tectónica del territorio. Se ofrece, además, una generalización de la geología regional de la parte noreste y sureste de Cuba oriental, distinguiéndose cinco complejos litólogo-estructurales. Finalmente se concluye que la tectónica de la zona se caracteriza por la existencia de dos estilos tectónicos que afecta a las secuencias más antiguas y una tectónica joven caracterizada por el predominio de sistemas de fallas normales que dividen la zona en bloques hórsticos y grabens.Downloads
