Compresión, basada en Wavelets, de modelos digitales de elevaciones

En este artículo se presenta un esquema de compresión progresivo de modelos digitales de elevaciones, en dos etapas, basado en wavelets. Esta propuesta utiliza lo mejor de dos mundos; usa una técnica, de alto rendimiento y baja complejidad, basada en wavelet para la compresión con pérdidas en una primera etapa. En la segunda etapa el modelo reconstruido se resta del modelo digital de elevaciones original para obtener los residuales que son luego cuantizados uniformemente y codificados sin pérdida para garantizar una cota máxima del error en cada punto.Downloads
