Abstract

The investigation presents a new online monitoring system for high voltage main transformers 1 and 2 at the Power Plant Lidio Ramón Pérez in Felton, Holguin province. This system provides information about current operating conditions and the status of the insulating system in real time. With real-time monitoring of main default gases such as hydrogen (H2), carbon monoxide (CO) and moisture contained in the oil, improvements to the safety and performance of this equipment can be carried out. Considering that these transformers are essential for power generation and transmission from this local power plant to the National Grid, it is required to complete the chromatographic standard analysis and the offline periodical analysis for the oil moisture content.
