Abstract

This investigation is carried out to evaluate the perception of the parents of the children that have been taken in in the Cahova house in Mexicali as to how vulnerability is addressed. This includes the characterization of the foster home and tackling the importance of family links with the educational institutions. It also analyses the relationship established between the home and the parents of the children that are under the protection of this institution. It revealed the social function of this foster home and the achievements associated with its work with minors. For this purpose, a survey was undertaken, which consisted of 11 questions being asked to 30 parents of the children that were on the streets or that were abused inside the Cahova home. The results indicated that the majority of the parents with children living in this home are satisfied with the work of this institution and with the information they receive.
