Power assessment of the hydraulic system operations in Matlab

Abstract

This investigation was carried out using the EPAnet-Matlab Class, a GUI in Matlab which allowed visualizing the patterns of the power required from the pump by the hydraulic system at a given flowrate and when changes were made to its topology. The results obtained indicated that the potentialities of these programs can be exploited for power analysis of these systems. In addition, it was possible to incorporate drivers in Matlabm, by means of which the data of the hydraulic system designed in EPANET can be received. The design of an application in Matlab facilitates power experimentations with regard to the driving used as well as more rational operating rates that can be observed when changing the hydraulic system load or the system topology.
