Abstract

The objective was to establish the microstructural behavior of different AISI 1020 titanium-steel and AISI 1066–steel AISI 1008 steel by applying the SMAW (Shielded Metal Arc Welding) welding procedure. The microstructures were composed of very fine equiaxial ferrite troostite type grains and coarse grain with ferrite grid. In the welded area of both base materials there are fine and aligned ferrite grains. The hardness behavior of samples where hardness increases from 120 HV for AISI 1008 steel to 250 HV for the AISI 1066 steel is analyzed.
