Abstract

Experimental tests were performed on a module of flexible photovoltaic blankets of the series EPV144S to analyze its operational parameters. High performance equipment such as: a weather station, an infrared thermometer with precision optics and short response time, a thermo graphical camera and an efficiency tester for photovoltaic modules were used. It was possible to verify the effect of the variation of the ambient temperature on the surface of the photovoltaic module, the levels of energy production in correspondence with the measured global radiation and the behavior of the ambient temperature. The abrupt changes in energy production due to variations in cloud cover are evident. By linear regression we obtained the expression that relates the levels of global radiation with the power generated by the module. The measurements that are collected demonstrate the behavior of flexible blankets in response to the conditions of Cuba's tropical climate.
