Abstract

The drilling and blasting passport in the Al Baraka quarry was perfected to rationalize the use of explosives, reduce the presence of spare parts, the bad conformation of the wall and the percentage of over-measured pieces. The proposed indicators are based on the analysis of different calculation methodologies such as Otaño, López, Konya and Langefors and Kihlstrom. The Otaño calculation methodology was considered as the most suitable to the requirements of that investigation. The proposed pattern allows to reach pieces of sized rocks, level floors and regular and stable walls.
