Abstract

The physical-mechanical properties of the rocks were determined (density, volumetric mass, limit of resistance to simple static compression) and the structure of the massif, made up of calcareous sandstones in the Victoria II and Victoria III quarries, was analyzed. In the case of the structural study, the crack systems and families were surveyed. As a result, the values of the aforementioned characteristics of the different sectors of each of the quarries are offered, according to their properties and cracking; aspects of primary importance for blast design.
