Abstract

This work deals with an analysis conducted on failure of supporting nutsof a vehicle electromechanical lift operating in Perla del Sur Agency from the RepairCompany of “Fidel Rodríguez Moya” Center belonging to UNECAMOTO. It could bedemonstrated that the extensive wear was caused by inadequate lifting operation. When lifting vehicles they did not make sure that the mass center coincide with thecolumn axis. This would allow the contact pressure on the nut to be at anacceptable value and it would therefore ensure minimal wear. The nut was made oftin bronze; which guarantees resistance to wear. The appropriate position whileplacing the different vehicles onto it is recommended.
