Abstract

The production of ferronickel requires excellent preparation and information on the minerals that will be fed to the Pyro-metallurgical Plant. For the new plant to be installed at Moa site in the future, it is necessary to prepare various types of mixed limonite and serpentine; thus allowing the exploitation of existing mineral resources in the mining concessions to the maximum, extending the useful life of mining concessions and the plant in addition to minimizing the environmental impact in Moa. The system will be implemented at the Ferronickel S.A plant. The objective of the investigation is to make a computer-assisted program available to ensure high quality ore feed to the ferronickel plant in Moa during metallurgical blending operations. Key Words: Ferroníquel; mineral resources; computer-assisted program; metallurgical blend.
