Abstract

This investigation analyzes the existing production structure of the Materials and Construction Industry located in the province of Guantánamo in addition to the geological, mining and technical characteristics of each ore deposit under exploitation. Empirical and theoretical methods of investigation were used to meet the objectives as planned. The mining and environmental assessment conducted at the Materials of Construction Industry demonstrated the significant negative and positive impacts caused by mining of these ore bodies. Several corrective actions are proposed to mitigate the negative impact required to undertake the mining activity in a responsible manner.
