Thematic approaches and personal scientific schools on mining areas at the Higher Institute of Mining and Metallurgy: Study results on research publications

Abstract

This study provides a comprehensive overview of the scientific productivity of the researchers working for the Mining Department in the Higher Institute of Metallurgy and Mining taking as reference their contribution to the collection of thematic approaches based on recurrent topics.  The scientific schools were structured based on common areas of interest studied by the investigators. This works presents the quantitative and qualitative results obtained from the researchers’ productivity study based on their research publications. It also presents theoretical and conceptual aspects related to the thematic approaches and personal scientific schools. A sample was taken from a chart showing the Production of Construction Materials developed by the scientific collaboration group and the thematic publications from the Mining Department. The diagram shows the scientific productivity for both the Department and researchers.
