Abstract

On few occasions, we have been able to view Antonio Maceo beyond his military rank and his various deeds in the Cuban countryside. The good education he received at early age despite the peculiarities of the Epoch makes us see the other man in him. In 1995, already turned an outstanding figure of the Cuban independence he gave the municipality of Sagua de Tánamo the honor to tour around its lands and make history. Members and families of the French Tomb of Jabuco still tell stories about the Titan in their songs. This Tomb was not only used in the compatriot´s festivities but also for covering up conspiratorial meetings in the region.
