Algunas consideraciones sobre el origen de la fosa de Bartlett
Abstract
En los últimos años han aparecido en numerosas publicaciones extranjeras diversos trabajos que tratan de cuestiones relacionadas con el origen de la fosa de Bartlett. Con pocas excepciones, el uso de la información geológica ha sido bastante deficiente y esquemática, y, por ende, han dejado de explicarse algunos problemas esenciales o han sido totalmente pasados por alto. En el trabajo ha presentar se discute, con las limitaciones impuestas por el tiempo, algunas cuestiones de la geología regional de las tierras que bordean el extremo oriental de la fosa de Bartlett y cómo estas pueden ser explicadas satisfactoriamente suponiendo que dicha estructura se originó por la traslación horizontal de bloques de la corteza terrestre, con el consecuente ascenso de material del manto para rellenar la fisura creada.Downloads
