Nuevos datos faciales y estructurales de la porción centro oriental de la provincia de Guantánamo
Abstract
En el presente trabajo se dan a conocer algunas características estructurales y faciales basadas en los trabajos geológicos realizados en la provincia de Guantánamo y el análisis de las correlaciones de los perfiles geológicos y descripciones estratigráficas, así como de lo datos paleontológicos obtenidos, logrando de este modo establecer una serie de complejos geológicos que se distribuyen en un intervalo de tiempo que va desde el Mesozoico tardío hasta el Cenozoico. Este artículo tiene como fin brindar una información sintética de los datos faciales y estructurales de la provincia de Guantánamo obtenidos durante una serie de levantamientos geológicos realizados por profesores y alumnos del ISMM Moa a partir de 1978; a la vez se establecen una serie de esquemas paleogeográficos basados en la sedimentogénesis de las diferentes unidades litoestratigráficas, así como sus características estructurales que han servido como base para discriminar en el corte la existencia de distintos complejos geológicos.Downloads
