Características de la corteza terrestre de Cuba y su plataforma marina
Abstract
Se ofrece el mapa de relieve del piso de la corteza terrestre de Cuba a escala 1.2 000 000, construido sobre la base de datos sísmicos y gravimétricos. Son trazadas las principales dislocaciones que afectan la superficie de Mohorovich, las cuales están comprendidas en dos sistemas, uno con rumbo sudoeste-noreste, con características de desplazamiento horizontal, y otro longitudinal a la Isla, correspondiendo por su naturaleza a las fallas de cizalla con componente de comprensión. Se observan tres tipos de corteza: oceánica en el extremo más oriental de la Isla y en los mares profundos del sur de la plataforma insular, corteza transicional fina en la porción oeste en el extremo oriental, costa y plataforma sur de la Isla, y corteza transicional gruesa para el resto del territorio centro norte de la Isla y su plataforma insulDownloads
