Modified Whiten model (1972) to modeling the grinding of residual anthracite in Nicaro

With the objective of modeling the anthracite crushing process in cone crusher, was taken as starting point the Whiten model, replacing the classification and breakage distribution functions for those that were proposed by Whiten and White (1979) and Austin and Luckie (1972) respectively. The determining of both functions and their coefficient identification was done using algorithm developed by Hechavarría (2011). Results show that the classification function follows the same regularity that those that was determinate by Vogel and Peukert (2005) and Coello et al. (2011). Different particle size accumulative breakage distribution functions confirmed Austin theoretical model validity. Correlation coefficient (0, 9826) and Chi-square results confirm modified Whiten model validity for modeling the anthracite crushing process of CIS crushing mobile installation from Nicaro.
