Strategies for solving basic operations in students with visual impairment

Abstract

An educational strategy was elaborated for the resolution of mathematical operations for the accomplishment of operations in the arithmetic box that allows the resolution of basic operations and problems in an autonomous way, applicable to a student of 12 years with visual impairment who attends the sixth grade of education primary education. The results of the final diagnosis were described, in which the initial diagnosis of the student was compared to what is required to consolidate basic operations. Based on the strategies of the intervention plan the student consolidated the management of the arithmetic box, through the resolution of operations and the corresponding sign, as well as the resolution of sums of up to three digits, subtraction of two digits and multiplication of one digit, identifying the data in the problem solving.
