Abstract

It was calculated by means of a computational simulation, using the finite element method, the amount of energy in the form of heat extracted from the injection mold analyzed and the time necessary to perform the extraction of the molded parts thereof. Initially, the parts to be injected and the injection mold to be used during the simulation were described. The cooling system to be used in the model was conceptualized, to which the parameters required for the processing of the injected plastic material were assigned, as well as the boundary conditions. The simulation was run obtaining all the values of the heat extracted from the mold by conduction, convection and radiation as well as the accumulated heat for each instant of time.
