Abstract

The behaviour microstructure of the union dissimilar analyzed among the gray foundry ASTM A 48 Class 25 and the white foundry ASTM A 532 class I type A ИЧ Х2 Н4, both of national production. The union got ready to end with preparation from the borders to 60o, welded by a single side of the material. It was characterized the fused area, the interface and the area of thermal influence structurally in the cord after having carried out the welding process with the electrode UTP 8 FN. In the analysis microestructural it was determined that in each one of the areas the solidification is preceded by the formation of the austenita dendrite and the ferrite, as well as for carbides eutectic Cr7C3 and the martensite, structures that cause the cracking in the union. The resulting chemical composition, determined by the diagram of Schaeffler, predicts that the cord is susceptible to the cracking above 1 250 oC, that which is evidenced in the increment that is obtained from 140 HV up to 586 HV in the fused area.
