Abstract

The effect of the total substitutions of the most used natural aggregates in the western region of Cuba (Havana) by mixed recycled aggregates and by natural filler were evaluated such as: lime hydrate and granulated white slag (industrial waste) in the elaboration of masonry mortars.  Masonry mortars were prepared with the recycled aggregates according to the Cuban standard specifications, determining the following properties: compressive strength, adhesion resistance, electrical resistivity and water retention, comparing them with a standard mortar made with natural aggregates and natural filler. The values show satisfactory results, from mortars made with recycled aggregates needed for masonry mortars Type III (suitable for installing and coating above ground level).
