Abstract

It is observed as common practice steel being replaced with iron with spheroidal graphite for the manufacture of parts in the machinery construction industry. This is owed to the fact that the latter has better mechanical properties and a low production cost. The objective of this article is to show the influence of the vibratory discharge on the resistance of grey iron with spheroidal graphite to traction applying the experimental method. It was proved that implementing the vibratory discharge at 70 Hz, and a discharge temperature of 1450 oC results in graphite pelletized with an improved homogeneous structure with a ferrite-perlite matrix. Consequently, this provides better structural results and an adequate resistance to traction.
