Wishing our readers a 2019 full of health and professional success we offer the first delivery of Volume 35. Of the eight contributions included in this issue, two of them, deals with the mining transport and the rehabilitation of mines with a point in common: open pit mines. We also offer a review, in English, of the deposition of residuals from the mining industry through underwater outfalls, a subject that is currently very controversial. We hope that this delivery will be of the interest of our readers and you send us any comment or suggestion.

    Vol. 34 No. 4 (2018)

Mining and Geology publishes the fourth issue of the year. On this occasion 10 articles on topics related to Geology, Mines, Environment, Extractive Metallurgy and Physical Metallurgy are presented. Of particular interest is the first article of the issue relating to the existence of scandium in the lateritic deposits of Moa. The fifth with the results of a methodology to implement the new Qa aeration parameter in the operation of the Punta Gorda leaching plant, with the purpose of attenuating losses of Co and Ni by segregating coprecipitation with the OHH and the last relative to obtaining metallic alloys of iron and slag from the aluminothermic processing of industrial solid waste. This presentation closes a year of success for the magazine, which has managed to improve its positioning in different databases that guarantee the continuity of the editorial work. Therefore, the editorial committee thanks all those who have contributed to this result.

We are pleased to offer readers the third issue of 2018 with nine contributions from our professors and researchers. Interesting topics such as the K / Pg limit in western Cuba, the probabilistic spatial behavior of some chemical elements in the ferroniqueliferous deposits of northeastern Cuba, the characterization of the waters of the Cayo Guam river and the geomechanical behavior of an ornamental rock deposit in the province Granma, among others, appear in this installment. We hope, as always, that they are of interest to our readers.

    Vol. 34 No. 2 (2018)

Eight new contributions make up the second number of the year. Our readers will be able to find interesting results in various topics such as geochemical migration in weathered profiles, multivariate and fractal treatment of lithogeochemical data, empirical relationships between different scales of magnitude for the homogenous cataloging of earthquakes, the application of geophysics to geotechnical studies in Angola, the improvement of lateritic ores drying technology, the recovery of magnesium hydroxide from an Argentine salt mine, and the use of the magnetic emission of Barkhausen as a non-destructive test in steels. The third article reveals the existence of functional relationships that constitute a contribution to the general theory of hydrogeoelectric flow in aquifers. We hope they are of your interest.

    Vol. 33 No. 4 (2017)

In the fourth and last issue of the year 2017 we propose 10 articles that we hope will be interesting to our readers. In this delivery, the subject of mathematical modeling focuses on the solution of aspects of the benefit of minerals and on the prediction of rheological parameters of lateritic hydromixtures. Also the characterization of rocky masses for blasting purposes and the determination of the thicknesses of the lateritic crust by electric methods are dealt with; a methodology for the sustainable closure of aggregate quarries is designed, steel is evaluated for different purposes and an environmental strategy is proposed to mitigate the effects of flooding in a Cuban municipality. The magazine thanks the collaborators of this issue and invites its readers to send us their comments.
