Abstract

The most common infections in childhood and what they cause at the neuropsychological level were shown. Its incidence on cognitive development and its long-term negative influence generating cognitive, motor, sensory and psychological alterations were analyzed. Damage from infections is considered diffuse, so global or generalized cognitive alterations can be found.
