Abstract

The microstructural behavior of a structural steel bar of the type ASTM A615 grade 60 G was established. The union of the bars was made butt with bevel at 60o with electrodes E 6010 and E 7018, the microstructural behavior was determined, the percentage of phases and the hardness in the areas of the welded joint. With E 6010 structures of the acicular ferrite and pearlite type are obtained, with 38.3% and 21.3% respectively, with E 7018 acicular ferrite is 31.5% and 10.33% martensite, with none of the contributions the presence of cracks was determined. In the hardness sweep carried out in the different zones, for the first from 230 HV it increases to 383 HV in the ZAC, with a decrease of 285 HV in the ZF, for the second in the ZAC it is 224 HV and 190 HV in the ZF.
